Hey! I’m Melanie (she/her)

I believe in collaborative therapy—you know yourself and your life best, I’m just here to guide you and help you explore the things you choose. I aim to create a space where you can be your authentic self—and I encourage you to come to session however you feel comfortable. I want you to feel you are able to say whatever is on your mind (even and especially if it includes a string of expletives) and feel that there is nothing off limits. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming, sex positive, and open to discussing anything that is on your mind. Therapy doesn’t have to be some uptight thing where we all pretend we have it together-none of us do and that’s totally fine.

I am consistently examining how I show up in the world and the priveleges I hold as white and cisgender. I want to hold a space for you to explore your life through the lens of the very real -isms that exist in our society if that is something you choose to do.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Substance Use Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) in the state of Virginia. I am also a registered telehealth provider in the state of Florida- https://flhealthsource.gov/telehealth/

I hold a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, a Master of Science in Substance Use and Clinical Counseling, and a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology. I have worked in this field for 10 years and have had the privelege to work alongside many individuals in various settings including jails, inpatient substance use treatment facilities, and community mental health.
